Shutdown Password

9 years 9 months ago #199 by PupazzoGnappo
Hey,
I just experienced a situation that lighted up a led in my brain.
What about a password request to shutdown the server ?
So if someone finds the system open in a browser and has no permission to activate/deactivate , he would be requested for a password to take down server.

Ideally, a different password from the main ( the one to access the server) would be perfect or this
I think it could be useful, because this system could be used also as alarm system

Hi, just add new user to EasyIoT server and use this user. Only admin user can configure/shutdown server, other users can not do that.

My suggestion was specific on admin user.
Here's a common situation:
I'm the admn of my server. I access my system from my workplace. I need to go to toilet/to another office/ etc. My browser stays open on my system. Someone could access my server with admin rights. Yeah , i know , i should never leave my laptop accessible to someone else than me, but if you work or have worked in an office, you know it happens everyday

I used this situation as a main example of my suggestion ;)
