Trouble adding a sensor

9 years 8 months ago #890 by joeye
HI,
I was having some issues with the mysensors controller I was using so I thought I would try EasyIOT but I can't get it to identify my sensor.
I took a Light (switch) sensor configured as S_LIGHT that worked fine with my old controller. Cleared the eeprom reloaded the sensors sketch, clicked add node in the my sensors driver config page and turned on the sensor it never seems to get a node ID.
I have the EasyIOT My Sensors driver set to Channel 76 at 1 Mbs. Unless I'm mistaken these are the default values and since I never touched them on my switch sensors sketch I believe they should be correct.
running EasyIOT in console mode never seems to yield any message to indicate anything has been received by the mySensors driver.
I have tired:
- adding a capacitor
- switching to use a NRF24L01+ that I know works
- disconnecting MOSI wire from the raspberry just to see if I get an error message (I do "check wires")
- checking that my node is transmitting using MySyscontroller on a windows machine connected to a serial gateway. It is working just fine.

Any advice on what I could be doing wrong or how to debug further would be most welcome
Thanks
Joey

Did you checked the file MyConfig.h (in your MySensors folder.)? Default channel there is 95. You have to change it to 76.

MySensor folder on the pi?
I changed it in GUI and it seemed to take as shows in debug output when running EasyIOT via terminal

No, I mean MyConfig.h in your Arduino library folders.

ahh got it.
I checked it has #define RF24_CHANNEL 76 which is what I expected as documentation has 76 as defualt

HI Folks! New user here. I am attempting to add my first mysensor. I checked everything above and all is good there, but I still can't get it to recognize the node. Here is the debug info...
