Tips for adding LCD text display?

I would like to add a text output to the system. I dont mind if it is a separate unit or if it could be tied to the pi. Has anyone done this? Or got any ideas. I would just like the display to cycle through the pop-ups on the server or display alarm conditions. Thank for the ideas.

you could do this by having an arduino connect to your network, and then call values via the API. EasyIoT admin will be able to give more directions!
