Disk Image too large

I have several 8 GByte empty micro SD cards for my Pi.
The image as downloaded is just a bit too large according to ApplePi-Baker

I have a 16 GByte disk which it is happy with - burning as I write,

But could the image be reduced in size a bit - I doubt it needs all the space on an 8 GByte SD card ?

Or is there a fix? (I am new to IOT-Playground....)

Try reformatting the disk before burning the image, I use this program yesterday and Burn an image on a 8 GB Sd card with success.

They were reformatted.

These are cheap Chinese SD cards possibly with bad sectors hidden by the manufacturer.

Two of them report 7.88 and 7.5 GBtes

I got a 16GByte to work and could shrink an image in Gparted - but I thought others may see the same problem with eBay cards.

New users may need to know that they should log in as pi and password raspberry and then type startx to see the dektop

(I bet people buy a Pi for the first time on seeing your great site!)

I'm using Samsung 8GB SD card to prepare image for release. I'm not sure if I can somehow shrink image file. If somebody know solution I will prepare smaller image for next release. I'm using win32diskimager to prepare SD card image.
