I've solved downloading a parallel version of 1.0.6 (zip version)... It runs perfectly togheter with 1.6.3 installed too...

Yes, good idea. I have also 2 Arduino IDE one for ESP and one for regular Arduino.

Excuse me Mr.EasyIoT, are you sure that thermostat sketch works with new esp library and new firmware? (also tried with a brand new esp with old firmware...same result)

I've rebuild everything today, this time with soldered cable direct to shield and esp give me the same error :

Works with ESP8266 library and correct firmware version. Tested yesterday.

In your case it's strange that after Send cmd:AT+CWMODE=1 your ESP resets??

i came here originally because i was using 1.6.3 and i got these errors

fatal error: SevenSegNumFontPlus.h: No such file or directory
fatal error: SevenSeg_XXXL_Num.h: No such file or directory
fatal error: arial_normal.h: No such file or directory

i downgraded to older ide 1.0.6. everything compiled perfect. i dont have any sensors attached yet but i do see the graphics on the screen. if i press the button theres no responses, does it need sensors just to go into settings?

I have the same issue with the touch screen as well with no sensors connected. I am trying to get some connected this weekend to see if that will solve my problem but I dont think that is the issue. I have calibrated my screen so the touches are working but not in the code.
