I have one of those and it works fine. But for my project I wanted to have a board as small as possible.

I'll add a capacitor. Maybe that'll help. I read that the gpio's should be protected with a resistor and that the gpio's that are not in use should be pulled low. I''l try that as well. I am using my 8266's with a battery. I am still looking for a good way to get the 4.2-3,7V lipo battery down to a stable 3.3volts.
